What You Will Do:

 

The Employer Relations Manager will direct and implement all components and initiatives related to employer relations, recruitment operations, planning on-campus career fairs and other career related events. This position will network with employers, faculty, staff, students, alumni and University administration to promote Career Development programs as well as develop and implement a structured recruitment plan to support both employers and students/alumni in successfully fulfilling career goals.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, implements and evaluates the employer relations and recruitment programs necessary to expand internship and employment opportunities for students and alumni through the University's Career Development Office;
  • Manages the coordination of career events. Oversees the communication between appropriate campus departments and program participants. Conducts on-going assessment and provide feedback as to the effectiveness of such events;
  • Works with employers to develop marketing strategies for employer branding, evaluate and set employer expectations, promote ethical standards such as interviewing protocols;
  • Collaborates with Director, Career Readiness Advisors, and faculty/staff to increase employment opportunities for all students and alumni including but not limited to underserved populations and graduate students;
  • Prepares periodic reports for the Veterans program and contributes to the Career Development Office's quarterly report through collecting proper metrics and reporting activities and outcomes of employer relations;
  • Maintains a database of full-time and part-time employment opportunities, including weekly Hot Jobs email distribution;
  • Attends networking functions as appropriate to develop employer contacts while promoting university and college objectives;
  • Conducts outreach and advises students on internship/job search strategies, educational and personal goals; with particular focus on a special population that includes both the Harrison Fellow and Veteran students (service learning, internships, etc).
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, College Student Counseling, Business, Marketing, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in university career services, recruiting, staffing, human resources or business development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relationship management databases, such as eRecruiting, CSO or Symplicity.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint along with demonstrated in-depth experience using LinkedIn and other professional social networking sites
  • Team Orientation: Is an effective team player who adds complementary skills and contributes valuable ideas, opinions and feedback. Communicates in an open and candid manner and can be counted upon to fulfill any commitments made to others on the team.
  • Ability to Learn New Skills/Learning/Growth Ability: Tends to learn new skills quickly on his/her own AND apply them both quickly and effectively to work situations.
  • Detail Orientation/Quality Focus: Has established a track record of producing work that is highly accurate, demonstrates attention to detail and reflects well on the organization. Is personally committed to high quality work and encourages others to have similar standards.
